The Ministry of Truth…

…has  run out of cash.

Snopes is Begging Readers for Cash – Daily Caller

“As misinformation has increasingly threatened democracies around the world (including our own), has stood in the forefront of fighting for truth and dispelling misinformation online,” Snopes staff wrote on a special web page setup to fundraise for the failing fact-check site.

“It is vital that these efforts continue, so we are asking the community to donate what they can,” the staff wrote.

Snopes was founded in 1994, and is well-known for its fact-checking. Google and Facebook employed the fact-checking site’s services earlier this year as part of their crusade against “fake news.” But now an outside vendor Snopes provided web services “continues to essentially hold the web site hostage.”

Snopes ended its relationship with the vendor earlier this year, according to, but the vendor won’t recognize the terminated contract and has cut the site off from any ad revenues.

Who would have thought that a company whose owner drained the coffers on hookers would run into financial issues?

If I had the time, I’d start a blog dedicated to systematically taking down Snopes by illustrating the many, many instances where Snopes has misled or flat out lied to their readers.  Their financial and personal behavior makes it all the more disturbing that evil fucking companies like Google use Snopes in the battle against “fake news”.  Hopefully this is their swan song and we can move on to taking down Politifact, a Soros-funded fantasy site.
