Good fucking riddance…

One of the most vile, poisonous and deceitful individuals to ever hold public office is finally retiring:

Reid predicts death of filibuster – Politico

So let’s break down one of Harry’s final interviews before he rides off in the sunset to spend his golden years kicking puppies and evicting the elderly from their homes (I assume).

Everything is just fine with the Democrat party says lyin’ Harry:

“They have Trump, I understand that. But I don’t think the Democratic Party is in that big of trouble,” Reid said in a half-hour interview with Politico on Wednesday, one day before he’ll deliver his farewell address. “I mean, if Comey kept his mouth shut, we would have picked up a couple more Senate seats and we probably would have elected Hillary.”

Does Harry regret the lust for power that drove him to alter Senate rules that only require a simple majority for confirmations?  Of course not:

But this is hardly the scenario that Reid envisioned for his departure: with a President-elect Trump and all-GOP Congress firmly in control of Washington. And Reid’s most controversial move as leader — invoking the “nuclear option” on Senate confirmations — will leave his party essentially powerless to halt Trump’s Cabinet selections.

Reid insisted that it was the right thing to do.

“I don’t know if it’s my biggest achievement, but I’m satisfied we did it. We had to. Look at why it was done,” said Reid, who turned 77 this month. “We got almost 100 judges approved … we saved the integrity of different agencies of government. No, think of what our country would’ve been without that.”

Never apologize, never say you’re sorry, right shitbag?

But the best part is this paragraph, literally brimming with pearls of wisdom:

To hear Reid tell it, the party’s electoral collapse wasn’t a result of poor messaging or even a bad candidate. It stemmed from looser campaign finance rules, FBI Director James Comey and the influence of a few powerful individuals — namely the Koch brothers, his long-running nemeses. The outgoing Senate minority leader is unapologetic on behalf of his party, and remains resolute that Democrats don’t need to chart a new political course after their 2016 debacle.

-Hillary outspent Trump 2 to 1.

-Trump had no financial support from the RNC.

-The Koch brothers despise Trump and spent millions in an attempt to defeat him.

-Comey did Hillary an enormous favor, twice.

Reid knows all of this of course.  But even when he’s being put out to pasture, he still can’t tell the truth.  Harry, may your retirement be long, painful and devoid of pleasure or satisfaction.  You were a blight on this country, and your only accomplishment as an elected official was to mysteriously get rich while in office.  Go away.
