But I’m becoming increasingly convinced it’s not about tired old themes like left/right or progressive/conservative. It’s about grown adults and goddamn children.
During the curtain call after the show, actor Brandon Victor Dixon thanked Pence for attending, quieted any boos, and told the VP-elect: “We are the diverse America whom are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and do work on behalf of all of us… all of us.”
First of all, what the fuck are they even talking about? And is this where we’re at now? We go off script at a fucking play so we can harass and lecture people that we think we disagree with?
This all goes back to a theme I have been re-iterating over and over: The message from the Democrat party to its constituents during the Barack Obama Presidency has been that the people that disagree with you are bad people and thus not worth listening to, not worth debating and not worthy of your respect.
A message to all the Liberals out there that think this sort of thing is cool: Every time you try to bully, harass, assault (or murder) the people you disagree with, it only hardens our resolve to fix this country. The irony in all this, an irony I might add that Liberals will never really understand, is that when we do fix this country, all those Liberals will have a higher quality of life, more money, more security and they’ll still be allowed to continue to say all the stupid shit they’re already saying.
UPDATE: Apparently at least one Liberal has a sense of right and wrong.
