‘Man-made disaster’: Critics say California drought caused by misguided environment policies – Fox News

The blistering drought that has Californians timing their showers, driving dirty cars and staring at brown lawns and empty swimming pools is a “man-made disaster,” according to critics, who say the Golden State’s misguided environmental policies allow much-needed freshwater to flow straight into the Pacific.

I’ve been waiting for someone to mention this.  I rarely post Fox News articles on here because there’s a certain subset of the population that won’t listen to or read anything from Fox News for reasons I can only assume revolve around the idea that only Liberals are entitled to biased news.

Regardless, this issue in California is something I’ve been following closely ever since I had the chance to read a tremendous article back in the Fall by National Geographic on this very issue.  NatGeo delves into the farming and irrigation methods that have been used for decades, most of which revolve around robbing Peter to pay Paul.  An edited version of the article is posted on Nat Geo’s website right here.   Even the edited version is lengthy, but I highly recommend this fascinating and informative article.  The bottom line is that the California farm valley has been farmed in a manner that’s simply not sustainable for the past several decades.

But hey, there’s no money to be made from the fools if we blame bad farming and irrigation practices.  Far more profitable to blame global war–climate change.

Unexpectedly!

US economy stalls in Q1 as weather, lower energy prices bite –  .2 percent GDP – CNBC

This time the weather is to blame.  But don’t worry!  Things look like they’re picking up!

I wish I had enough fingers and toes to count how many times we’ve heard some version of this story.

U.S. economic growth braked more sharply than expected in the first quarter as harsh weather dampened consumer spending and energy companies struggling with low prices slashed spending, but there are signs activity is picking up.

Gross domestic product expanded at an only 0.2 percent annual rate, the Commerce Department said on Wednesday. That was a big step down from the fourth quarter’s 2.2 percent pace and marked the weakest reading in a year.

A strong dollar and a now-resolved labor dispute at normally busy West Coast ports also slammed growth, the government said.

Baltimore Burns part deux

Baltimore burns and what is the solution?  You’re going to be shocked:

Democratic Leader Says Solution In Baltimore Is More Federal Spending – Daily Caller

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer defended Baltimore city officials’ reaction to the riots erupting in the city by asking for more federal tax dollars.

The Daily Caller asked Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, if the city’s leadership had failed, since the West Baltimore area was still being rebuilt from the 1968 riots. Hoyer replied, “We have to invest in making sure that we have proper infrastructure and proper housing so that we have neighborhoods that are safe and that we safe conditions in which to live.”

We’re long past the point of the “doubling down” phase of spending ourselves into prosperity.  I wonder how many failures it will take before anyone on the Left realizes it makes things worse.

Last night I was wondering aloud who the Dems would blame for Baltimore..

Today Barry made the reach to blame the Republicans..  Of course, it doesn’t take much to convince his cognitively challenged constituents:

Obama On Baltimore: Republican Congress Won’t Invest in Urban Communities – Breitbart

“There’s a bunch of my agenda that would make difference right now in that,” he said, calling for more funding for early education, criminal justice reform and job training.

Obama criticized members of Congress for blocking his agenda items, but encouraged Americans to do some “soul searching” during his joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe this afternoon.

“I’m under no illusion that under this Congress we’re going to get massive investments in urban communities,” he said, adding that it was important to work to improve communities anyway.

He explained Americans should not “just pay attention to these communities when a CVS burns,” but rather work together to tackle poverty around the nation.

“[W]hat I’ve tried to do is promote those ideas that would make a difference, but I think we all understand that politics is tough because it’s easy to ignore those problems or to treat them as a law and order issue as opposed to a broader social issue,” he said.

I wonder if this approach will ever stop working.

Clinton Cash Author is Targeting Jeb Bush Next – Bloomberg

The past week can’t have been very pleasant for Peter Schweizer. On Sunday, the New York Times revealed that his forthcoming book, Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich, was roiling the political world—“the most anticipated and feared book of a presidential cycle still in its infancy,” as the Times put it.

That landed Schweizer squarely in the crosshairs of the Clinton team and allied liberal groups, which have launched a campaign to discredit Schweizer as “disreputable” and blinded by partisan animosity. Anyone familiar with Schweizer’s work knows better: he wrote a well-regarded book about the Bush dynasty and another, detailing insider trading in Congress, that led to a new law, the bipartisan STOCK Act of 2012, which aims to curb these abuses.

That hasn’t quieted the left-wing clamor that Schweizer is simply out to get Hillary Clinton. But maybe this will: Schweizer is working on a similar investigation of Jeb Bush’s finances that he expects to publish this summer.

Good.  Perhaps these books will open a few people’s eyes on the Bush and Clinton crime families.

Hot Baltimore Nights…. and who do we blame for them?

I was wondering today about who the Left will blame for the mess in Baltimore.  A Republican hasn’t had any significant level of power in Baltimore in 50 years.  It’s a city that has been run by Liberals, mostly African-American Liberals for the entirety of the 21st century.  Will this somehow be Bush’s fault?  At least one idiot at the network that only idiots watch (in this case, it’s CNN.. I know, there’s a lot of those networks) thinks the problem is… wait for it.. drumroll..   Military Veterans!

CNN ANCHOR BROOKE BALDWIN BLAMES MILITARY VETERANS FOR BALTIMORE RIOTS

In a pathetic suck-up interview with Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummins, Baldwin never once had the moral courage to ask the failed Baltimore City congressman if the left-wing policies ushered in by a half-century of a Democrat monopoly in Baltimore might have something to do with the city’s ills. Instead, she said of young military veterans who become police officers, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”

The context was a discussion about increased training and retraining for the Baltimore police.

There’s no question Baldwin is hoping to launch a narrative with that smear.

This is pure CNN; throwing out anti-science smears towards the best people this country has to offer while it is in reality the rioters who are “doing battle.” It is savages who are looting and burning and causing anarchy, not the police. But it is the Baltimore police who have 15 wounded among their ranks. It is the Baltimore police who calmly did not do much battle during Monday night’s riots.

But please don’t misunderstand, because she just loooooves our veterans:

Capture

Still waiting for one of those “sane” Liberals to take a stand against this kind of monstrous behavior.

If Only President Obama Weren’t Black … – Redstate

It must be comfortable and convenient for President Obama to assume the opposition to him is because of his race. He can negotiate a bad deal with Iran and conclude the public hates it because he is black. He can tell people they can keep their doctors then take their doctors away from them and console himself that the anger of the public is just racist. He can see a solid position in Iraq and Afghanistan squandered as ISIS overruns us and, when people point it out, conclude it’s just because of his skin color. People can drop out of the workforce because they can’t find jobs and when their stomachs rumble and their mouths grumble, President Obama can look himself in the mirror and think it’d all be different if he were not a black man.

If only President Obama weren’t black, maybe he would realize that people don’t dislike him because he is black, they dislike him because he is a self-absorbed ass.

My title for the article would have been “If Only President Obama Weren’t a Fascist, Manchurian Candidate Puppet” but that is a bit wordy.

Perhaps a better title would be:  “If President Obama Weren’t Black…  He never would have been elected.  Period.”  A white Barack Obama could never have made it through the normal levels of scrutiny that would have been applied.  The public would have seen that he had essentially no notable political history and a disturbingly obfuscated past.
