Anderson Cooper: ‘Why Does Alec Baldwin Get a Pass Using Gay Slurs?’  Conservative ‘Would Be Vilified’

Hollywood’s refusal to stand up to Alec Baldwin is shameful

GLAAD Gives Alec Baldwin a Pass on Homophobic Rant

Anderson Cooper and Andrew Sullivan are beside themselves as to why Alec Baldwin gets a pass on homophobic twitter remarks.

Does this really need to be explained?

If your politics are the right kind of politics, then whatever you said was simply misinterpreted or taken out of context.  If your politics are the wrong kind, then you’re a hate-monger who is deemed unfit to live.

We’re a nation divided into two classes across many lines.  We have a political class who is above the law because laws and paying taxes are for little people.

We have a faux-cognitive elite class that has an exclusive lock on righteous behavior and thought and consequently, can behave however they’d like and not risk being criticized or being held accountable.

MSNBC anchor pretty bummed SCOTUS gay marriage rulings “gut power of federal government” – Hot Air

Harris-Perry threw cold water on the celebrations ongoing at 30 Rock when she lamented the Court’s decision to not rule in the case against Proposition 8. She said that this ruling, along with other decisions the Court handed down this session, “gut the power of the federal government” and prevent Washington D.C. from declaring gay marriage the law in all 50 states.

“It’s been kind of a rocky week for rulings from the Supreme Court,” Roberts opined.

Harris-Perry agreed and apologized for being the cautious voice in the room and interrupting the “celebratory” atmosphere on MSNBC.

“As much as those of us who are allies of this movement, and those of us how’ve been working hard on the question of marriage equality would like to read this in the broadest sense,” Harris-Perry began. “What they did, all week long – from the beginning to the end of this week so far – is to gut the power of the federal government.”

Harris-Perry approved of the Court striking down DOMA and sending Prop 8 back to California, but noted that “marriage may be even farther away” in other states because the federal government cannot now pass a law forcing gay marriage rights on more conservative states.

Look, I’m all for gay marriage.  I’m for it in that I believe everyone has the right to be with who they love as well as enter into legal agreements with that person.  From a purely political perspective, I’m always going to be for anything that gets the government out of our lives.  But there’s two things that concern me:

1. There’s nothing in the constitution that directly addresses marriage (gay or otherwise) which means it’s completely out of the parlance of the Federal Government and that includes the Supreme Court.  When the constitution doesn’t address something, it’s up to the States to deal with it as the people of those states see fit.

2. There’s an old saying that goes something like “A Liberal is just a person in search of a dictator.”  I do not, nor will I ever understand that complete lack of concern on the part of Leftists for an all-powerful Federal government.

Rep. Moore: GOP Demands ‘That You Work Else Your Children Can’t Eat’ – CNS News

During a speech earlier this month Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) said that GOP House leaders are pushing public policy “demanding that you work else your children can’t eat.”

The nerve of those fucking Republicans!  Demanding that when you have children, you’re actually obligated to get your lazy fucking ass off the couch and work.

In all seriousness, I don’t think the people who are predicting that a civil war is brewing in this country are going out on a limb.  We have a population that’s split down the middle:  The producers are on the right and the takers are on the Left.  Couple that with an increasingly tyrannical government that the takers will fight to keep in power so as to maintain their style of living (off of others) and I have very little doubt that there will be increasing levels of violence in the years ahead.

Barack Obama to cut emissions in vow to save planet – UK Telegraph

In sweeping proposals released after four years of frustrated efforts, Mr Obama ordered new curbs on carbon emissions from power plants and called for America to ready its defences against an already-changing climate.

The president also surprised environmentalists by signalling he would reject a controversial oil pipeline if it was found to “significantly exacerbate” the problem of carbon pollution.

Note to people embroiled in corruption scandals everywhere:  When in doubt, change the subject.   The coverage from Obama’s base has been unusually critical as of late and there’s no better way to win them back than to throw them a leftist, science-denying bone (and throw the lower class under the bus in the process).

What Liberals always miss as they proudly proclaim their self-righteous commitment to healing mother earth is that the people who are struggling just to get by always take it right up the ass.  They also miss the fact that with each Gaia-saving Executive Order, the federal government grabs more and more control over private businesses in the process.

The next civil-rights movement…

Chuck Schumer told Candy Crowley on CNN’s State of the Union that “this has the potential of becoming the next civil-rights movement.” He went on to warn that if Speaker John Boehner tries to bottle up the bill or eliminates a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, “I could see a million people on the mall in Washington — on the platform would not be the usual suspects but the leaders of business, the leaders of the Evangelical movement, the leaders of high tech as well as most Americans pressuring the House to act. I think they’re going to have to act whether they have a majority of Republicans [in the House] or not.”

It is not a civil right to get to live in another country.

There’s not another country on the planet that simply allows millions of people to become citizens just because they’re “there”.

Schumer isn’t predicting demonstrations, he’s threatening demonstrations.

This is yet another bill that’s so large, we “have to pass it to see what’s in it”.  No more of these bills.  It’s a genuine shame that single item legislation isn’t part of the constitution.  Of course, the founding fathers never in their wildest dreams could have guessed that half the country is comprised of high-functioning retards.
